What did you do this past week?
This past week, I worked on my neural networks project, as well as the final project for my data mining class. Furthermore, I studied for some Japanese quizzes which I took today, as well as studied for my Japanese exam this coming week. I also signed up for my classes for the fall. However, as I can currently finish my degree in one semester, I am not sure of what to do for the spring semester. While joining the industry workforce sounds practical, I’d like to spend an additional semester in college, considering most of us lost a year of college life due to covid and online classes.

What’s in your way?
Currently, nothing in particular is in my way. However, I do feel as if I am losing academic momentum as summer approaches. Hopefully I can gain some steam and finish the school year strong.

What will you do next week?
Next week, I will continue working on my neural net projects, as well as the final project for the same class. I will also work on the final phase for software engineering with my teammates.

What did you think of Paper 13. What Happens to Us Does Not Happen to Most of You?
I have not yet read the paper, so thus I do not have an opinion.

What was your experience of subqueries and refactoring.? (this question will vary, week to week)
I thought that subqueries were interesting, such as how they sometimes work over simply using a normal standard query. Refactoring sounds useful, as for readability of code.

What made you happy this week?
This week, I celebrated my roommate’s twenty-first birthday at my apartment! It was fun to play board games and try wine with some friends, as it’s been a while since we have hosted an event. Furthermore, on the same day, I completed the Long Horn Run’s 5 kilometer race with the same group of people, which was a ton of fun! I’ve never run at an official event, and simply hearing the masses of footsteps was very hype-inducing. Additionally, the celebration afterwards was nice with all of the free drinks and food. It was also a very optimal day to have a run, with many clouds shielding us from the sun.
